FRIVILLIGENHEDEN

As a volunteer in the Lolland-Falster Fire Brigade, you become part of a community that is collectively able to help by e.g. fire, accommodation and catering, rescue missions, Samaritan guards, pollution and more.

And

To become a volunteer in the Lolland-Falster Fire Brigade, you must be 18 years old. If you are 16 years old, you can join the youth fire service.

As a volunteer, you are part of the level 2 emergency preparedness. This means that in the event of major incidents or sea rescue, you will be called and must appear at the fire station on Skibevej 2, Maribo or Ndr. Ringvej 6, Nykøbing F.

And

Some of the incidents you may be called to may be firefighting and relief of the emergency, sea rescue, catering duties, e.g. when refugees came to Rødby in September 2015, major pollution tasks and many more.

And

Many of the educations that you can take in the Lolland-Falster Fire Brigade provide competence both in civilian life, but also if you want to become a firefighter.

And

As a volunteer in the Lolland-Falster Fire Brigade, you must go through a basic education, which consists of:

  • 6 hours introductory training. see content

  • 6 hours construction of the emergency and damage site.

  • 12 hours First Aid (credit can be obtained by presenting a valid first aid certificate from the Danish First Aid Council)

  • 6 hours use of SINE radios

  • 3 hours Lifting and carrying technique

  • 3 hours Elementary fire fighting (credit can be obtained by presenting a valid Elementary fire fighting certificate)

  • 12 hours Mental first aid

  • 1.5 hours of theory in the use of service vehicles. Then you need to retrain for the simple vehicles.  

And

We expect you to have completed the basic education within the first year as a volunteer.

In addition to the basic education, you must have completed training tracks in the unit in which you have chosen to serve in the course of 2 years.
